It has been said that being Tasmanian is ‘the quiet pursuit
of the extraordinary’.

The extraordinary is what Richard and Belinda Weston are committed to, who, alongside their partners Tom Barham and Jenna Howlett, formed ‘Tasmanian White Asparagus’; the first farm to grow and harvest the premium variety of European White Asparagus in Brighton, Tasmania.

Informed by European farming practices of the white asparagus variety, Tasmanian White Asparagus has been driven by their extensive R&D to pioneer the new industry in Australia. As a counter to the seasonal product in the northern hemisphere, the European white asparagus variety will be available in the Australian spring for September – October.

  • This is just a quick message to say thank you for your beautiful white asparagus.

I am from Holland and have been living in Australia for 20 years, my Aussie husband and 3 kids never tasted white asparagus in their live before and I couldn’t wait to make it for them.

I was so happy when I found you are growing them and have been waiting to buy them. My dad used to grow our own white asparagus in Holland and we had the “beds” just like you in our veggie garden. We had them yesterday, the traditional way with new potatoes, egg, ham and melted butter and it was delicious, it brought me straight back to my childhood. Everyone loved it! I will definitely ordering again and kept one pack to make soup.

Thank you for making the effort of growing this delicious vegetable here in Australia.
